 I am proud to be leading this great team and great club into the Roosters 101st season in 2008. Thank you for your support this far. The form and commitment the players showed in the latter half of the 2007 season was a great indication of what to expect this coming season and we look forward to having you along for the ride. With the addition of Mark O’Meley, and the return of James Aubusson to the club, we can only improve on the achievements of 2007. As the only club to have played every year for the 100 seasons in Australia, the Sydney Roosters will be at the forefront of the games centenary celebrations. As a former player and captain let me assure you, the players are driven by the heart and soul of the club, our supporters. This season we are also challenged off the field needing to lift our Membership base to 5000 and together with the Club we have created “Freddy’s 5000”. Challenging 5000 Roosters supporters to make the transition to becoming Members. Don’t say I must join – Do it now as part of the team. There was no better feeling than to run onto the Sydney Football Stadium to a packed house, full of supporters dressed in red, white and blue. The adrenalin and inspiration drawn from the crowd always drove me to play my best. As a coach, to see that support for the team and to know that they will draw from that what I used to, I am just really looking forward to a similar reception in 2008. We look forward to sharing our season with you and welcome you on board as a Tri-Colour Member. See you in 2008!
